Admissions Timeline

  1. December 1, 2024: The application is available to the public via the SchoolMint Online enrollment system. 

  2. December 2024 - February 2025: Open application period.  Any interested student in grades K-2 can apply to attend G.O. B.I.G. for the 25-26 school year.  

  3. March 2025:  G.O. B.I.G. hosts the enrollment lottery to determine which students are accepted for the imminent school year. 

  4. After the Lottery: Students newly accepted to G.O. B.I.G.  are able to begin completing registration documents in SchoolMint.

Lottery Process​

If G.O. B.I.G.  receives more student applications than spots available, we are required by law to host a public lottery to determine which student shall be accepted.

Lottery Priorities

Great Opportunities and Boundless Innovations for Girls may give enrollment priority under the following circumstances as stated in G.S. 115C-218.45.

  1. Children of Full-Time Employees and Board Members.

  2. Siblings of Current G.O. B.I.G.  Students

  3. A student enrolled in a charter school that does not offer the student's next grade level.

Grade Levels for 25-26 school year

G.O. B.I.G will accept applications from students who will be in Kindergarten,1st grade, and 2nd grade during the 2025-26 school year.
